And the winner of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for Product Design in 2022 is… Ava Bullet!

Thank you, thank you. You all are too kind. We truly could not have done it without your support, business, and love of cloud security. We are forever grateful. 

*Wipes tear, sniffles a little. Deep breath.*

We want to start by first thanking you, our customers, for all of your feedback. You challenged us to make the best cameras on the market with the best cloud solution. Whether or not you use Ava with your current camera deployment or you’ve been an Ava camera wo/man since the beginning, your communication about what works and what doesn’t steered us towards the cameras we have today. And wow, do they look good!

Our mission has always been to provide a better, smarter way to deliver security. The solution was designed to be flexible so you could tailor it to your needs and your company. It never mattered if you already had cameras; you could use Ava with what you currently had deployed. Yet if you needed to expand your scope or upgrade your security, we wanted to provide you with the best camera—and one that looked darn good.

The Red Dot Award is the premier award in product design and development. Since 1955, this international prize has awarded products across three categories: product design, brand and communication design, and design concept. It is recognized around the world as a credible sign of excellent design, and we are absolutely honored and thrilled to be chosen (again). 

This is the third time Ava has won a Red Dot award—we previously won one for our Compact Dome, Dome, and 360 security cameras and another for the Ava Aware Cloud solution—but that doesn’t mean we are any less excited. Each camera, each product, is a new opportunity for us to push the boundaries of good design.

Good design matters because it influences how we feel about our environment. Think about how different a luxury hotel lobby feels compared to a doctor’s waiting room. The design, the layout, and the visuals all greatly impact our emotions and comfort in a space. When we created the Ava Bullet, we wanted to eliminate the creepy Big Brother feelings and instead connote feelings of safety and modernity. 

We could not have done this without EGGS. You read that right.  EGGS Design was instrumental in the design and production of Ava Bullet. EGGS has been helping us, and other companies bring sustainable ideas to life for years. We can’t wait to see what they hatch up next. 

And last but not least, we want to thank the other teams that made this win possible. It took a great deal of brainpower and cross-functional work to make this the sleekest bullet camera on the market. Who’s to say what product will win next—there are many exciting developments underway with the Ava teams. Whatever it is, we hope you enjoy it just as much as you have the rest of the Ava portfolio.
